Maria Chen 陈榕珊
Fellowship Cofounder and Director, IFAWF
Animal Welfare Researcher, University of British Columbia
Maria is a Research Technician in the University of British Columbia's Animal Welfare Program. Her research focuses on understanding the lives of frontline farmworkers on dairy and layer hen farms in China, as well as factors influencing animal care. She hopes that through this program, passionate individuals can connect and become inspired to work collaboratively to create a better world for farmed animals.

Irene Feng 冯冬梅
Fellowship Manager, IFAWF
Irene previously worked at Animals Asia Foundation for over ten years. She has driven a remarkable and successful Cat and Dog Welfare Programme from its original creation to the comprehensive nationwide programme it has become today. With which we have seen significant welfare improvements of countless companion animals in China. In IFAWF, Irene hopes to continue her passion and use her skills and experience to empower the talented youth for helping farm animals.

Jonathon Tree 恒明俊
Fellowship Cofounder and Advisor, IFAWF
Policy and International Liaison, Environment & Animal Society of Taiwan
Jonathon works on policy and international liaison at the Environment & Animal Society of Taiwan (EAST), where he leverages his international perspective to facilitate legislative advocacy, corporate collaboration, and consumer education to further EAST’s mission of achieving change for farm animals. He is a member of the Effective Altruism community, and has strong hopes for the growth of the farm animal protection field in China.
Maria and Jonathon are engaged in the IFAWF in an individual capacity, and do not represent their respective employers or institutions.
